About me
Sharmin Prince is a self-employed Certified Trauma Recovery Coach, a Certified Gender Equality Changemaker, and a Tension and Trauma Release Exercises (TRE) provider, her passion lies in guiding individuals on a transformative journey, navigating the complex terrain of trauma to reach the pinnacles of their authentic selves. In 2020, Sharmin innovated a Self-Discovery program spanning over 60 hours of intensive group work. This program merged a multipronged coaching and therapeutic methodology to support female survivors of gender-based violence. Participants emerged emboldened, beginning their healing journey with newfound grace and embracing the authenticity that was once veiled by their tribulations. Her academic foundation is as robust as her commitment to her craft, with a Master of Science (MS) in Organizational Leadership from Nyack College, where she honed her insights into the intricate relationship between job satisfaction and employee retention within the nonprofit sector. Further, she holds a Master of Science (MS) in Psychology from Grand Canyon University (ABD), specializing in the intricacies of self-regulation failure and procrastination. Sharmin’s contribution to the nonprofit landscape in New York City is nothing short of pioneering. Throughout her tenure, she has equipped over 2000 professionals, ranging from front desk staff and case managers to supervisors and department heads, with the tools to excel and catalyze change in 2017, she played an instrumental role as an administrator for New York City’s inaugural study on veterans, steering the Resilient Strength Training (RST) intervention catering to Moral Injury. Her leadership facilitated the training of combat veterans afflicted with PTSD to become program facilitators and managed the pioneering veterans peer specialist certification program, Battle Buddy Bridge. In 2020, Sharmin began working with nonprofit organizations in Africa during the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Based Violence. Today, she has supported and worked with more than 30 NGOs on the continent and is currently mentored more than five. A fervent advocate for gender equality, Sharmin Prince is not only a survivor; she's a changemaker, committed to sculpting an equitable future through unwavering activism and an ardent pursuit of justice.
